Thailand Calling: Chiang Dao's Nest

All Rights Reserved. Chiang Dao's Nest. CHECK OUT THE POOL. Just a LITTLE PHALLIC, RIGHT?

*This was not an intentional review and I was not asked to write this. It's just that we stayed many days at Chiang Dao's Nest and it was BY FAR the highlight of our entire Thai holiday. I was not paid to write this.*
Chiang Dao’s Nest is just outside the village of Chiang Dao. After driving down a windy road, we reached the resort whose backdrop was nothing short of spectacular and inspiring.

High, sharp mountains rose behind the resort. Birds sang.

Upon arrival, the 10 of us were greeted with smiles. We stayed in the thatched roofed huts pictured here. They were simple, but very comfortable.

No A/C, but it wasn’t required since we were in the mountains. I won’t lie and say it wasn’t warm. It was. But nothing like Bangkok.

The beds were very comfortable, especially after sleeping on rock hard mattresses that are so common in SE Asia. One of the owners, Witcha, explained later, that she spent a lot of time choosing mattresses.

The food was wonderful and the service outstanding.

You can check out my raving review on Trip Advisor here. Needless to say, anyone and everyone heading up to the north of Thailand should check-out Chiang Dao's Nest.

Chiang Dao’s Nest specializes in providing tours/and trekking of the area, especially off-the-beaten track. They will customize your tours to meet your needs.

Our families went on many adventures including:
·       Checking out the local market
·       Visiting amazing limestone waterfalls
·       Hanging out in natural hot springs
·       Visiting a cave
·       Checking out the valley views from a stunning, old pagoda/wat (temple)
-       Bamboo river rafting (my favorite)
·       Elephant trekking! (That’s saved for another post!)

Next post: Find out what it's like visiting an elephant training center. I PROMISE you will laugh - and maybe cringe - with that post!
